The service will be held at St Begh's RC Church, Coach Road, Whitehaven at 2.30pm. It will be a full mass, so it should take about 60 minutes (no snoring please). Directions to the church: From the South – Leave the M6 at junction 40 and turn left (first exit) at the roundabout on to the A66 signposted Keswick. Follow the A66 for a long while (40mins) towards Keswick and then Workington. Turn left off the A66 on to the A595 to Whitehaven (slip road). Follow signs for Whitehaven, staying on the A595 (left hand side) when the road forks near the town centre. At the first set of traffic lights after the Sunny Hill pub, turn right and follow the road down the hill. Turn left at the traffic lights at the Esso garage into a road with speed bumps. St Begh's Priory church is halfway down the road on your right. Take the second entrance into the church (one way system). From the North – Follow directions for Carlisle, turning off the A74 onto the A7 just before the A74 becomes the M6. At the big roundabout near the centre of Carlisle take the far right exit signposted A595 Workington. Follow signs for Whitehaven/ Cockermouth, which will eventually take you on to the A66 for a short time. Turn left off the A66, back on to the A595, to Whitehaven (slip road). Follow the directions above. Alternately make your way onto the M6; leave at junction 40 taking the right hand exit on to the A66 signposted Keswick and follow the directions above. From the East – Stay on the A66 towards Keswick/Workington. Follow the directions as above. |
